Jazz Bands - The NCHS Jazz curriculum emphasizes a knowledge of the various forms and periods of the jazz idiom. Students are placed in one of the two ensembles based on an audition or director recommendation. Students focus on the performance and understanding of various elements of jazz music such as improvisation and other specialized techniques required in this idiom.
